Will Davison resisted a flying Craig Lowndes to win the second V8 Supercars race at Phillip Island and move into the championship lead. Polesitter Lowndes stalled his Triple Eight Holden at the start and tumbled to ninth, then began a comeback charge that almost took him to victory in the 45-lap race, which saw four safety car interruptions.
